The game begins when a player places a bet by inserting money into the machine and pressing the "Deal" Button. The player then needs to decide whether he wants to keep or get rid of one or more cards in exchange for a new card. The machine will then assess your hand and offer you a payout if your hand matches one of the ones shown on the pay table.
On average the minimum hand that pays out is a pair of jacks and and is decided in the pay table according to how rare it would be to achieve that hand.
